Here is a 40 minute video of me detailing the story of my life as it pertains to my use of medical marijuana. You-tube only lets me do the videos in 10 min segments, but I grouped them all together and they should auto play fairly well. Now that I am getting the hang of the video blog thing, I will probably be using that for at the very least weakly updates. I tend to have a lot to say about really not a lot at all, but typing requires me to use way too much energy after a 16 hour day remodeling a house.

A note on the house... We are getting very close. Have passed all electrical and such inspections. It is now just a race to get it all installed. Honestly, we need money or building materials. Between getting a house rented and furnished for my brother and my children to live in, the lawyers retainers and the building materials we have purchased so far, we are beyond tapped out. What savings we had were completely wiped out getting to the point we are at. I think that we are about $2,000 short on building materials to get the house in move in condition. From there, we can spend the next 5 years finishing the house. Just getting the basics in for now, not even painting yet.. We have almost the entire top floor insulated and sheetrocked, but are out of insulation now, and have enough drywall left for maybe one room on the ground level. If anyone can spare even $8, that buys a bag of insulation, or $6 will get a 4x8 sheet of drywall. Every little bit helps. If anyone has a larger amount that they are willing to loan, I can either barter my building, wiring, mechanical, landscaping or general anything help, or pay back any borrowed money at the latest after tax season. Finishing this house is the one thing that stands between me and my six children, and I will do whatever I have to, to make sure that come August 8th MY children will be living with ME.

A house torn apart, a new life and more of the same.....

It has been a while since I have posted an update. Things have become very hectic, trying to keep up with two houses, all the legal charges against my wife and myself, remodeling the house and delivering baby goats. Needless to say, not a lot of time for online stuff the last few weeks.

            The home that my brother has been staying was sold suddenly this week. So, I either have to get the house we are remodeling finished enough to move the kids back into, or Ben will need to find and rent a house big enough for all six kids. As of today, the 12^th of July we have 26 days left before he has to move. The house is right now completely stripped out. There I nothing left inside the home but open stud walls. Even the wiring has been completely removed. So what we have to do is basically EVERYTHING….  Today, I met the step-father and mother of a very good friend of our family. He is a licensed electrician, and has a lot of friends that are wiling to come help us with time and some materials. Her mother is the best nail puller I have ever met, and shovels plaster better than most men I know. Help keeps showing up in the most unexpected ways, and just when I think to myself I should give up and walk away, help and materials just start coming. Those are the things that I believe God uses to talk to me and show me that he is listening. We can always use more help though, and we are far from having all the materials we need to complete the house.

            On the farm front, we welcomed “Peanut” to our family on Saturday July 9^th at around 4pm. All six children were at the farm visiting when Bailey went into labor. They also had several friends over at the time. It was so great to be able to let the children and special people in our lives take part in a miracle, like watching the first breath of life in a new and precious animal. Peanut is doing very good. She is extremely healthy and full of energy. I think she may be a match for the kids. She seems to be able to run forever. The video of the birth is on youtube.             On the legal front, we have not made a lot of progress. Lisa’s court appointed lawyer was a joke. He has absolutely no enthusiasm to do more than try and plea bargain for probation. He stated that Jeff Wilson the head of the west central drug task force was a “good guy” and “knew what he was doing”. What a joke Mr. Jay Heit. You should be ashamed to call yourself a lawyer. Do you have any idea what kind of crimes that man commits on a daily basis? How many good families he has ruined to support his own addictions? A “good guy” my ass. Sorry about the rant, but this man is supposed to be defending my wife, not the man that messed up our lives and tried to destroy our home and family. Needless to say, she has requested a new lawyer. They have not yet released the affidavit for the search warrant. We have however gotten a copy of the full report from Jeff Wilson. That was a joke and a half. Almost every single thing that he wrote in his report regarding his conversations with myself and my wife were conjectures and miss quotes out of context. I will try to get a copy of that up on here soon. I have made an official request for the transcript from the CHIPS case, and am still waiting for that.

            As for EauClaire NORML, things are moving along. I am crossing my fingers that we will be an approved chapter by the time “A Cannabis Fair” rolls around. We have gotten some great feedback from a lot of people, and have gotten almost everything set up to rock and roll as soon as the National NORML gives us the go ahead to start accepting members.

The state finds: We are PERFECT parents!

Today we had court for the placement of our six children. The CHIPS hearing was scheduled at 2:30 pm, but court was running behind, and we did not get called into court until almost 4:00. The report that was written by the social services outlined the legal charges against my wife and me, and then went into detail on the six children’s lives. It then outlined my life and my wife’s life. The reports on the children were basically rubber stamps of each other. The children are average or above in all areas social and intelligence related. Healthy, happy, compassionate children. It was noted, that Thomas the oldest had a very in-depth understanding of medical marijuana and my need for it as a medication to control seizures. He also had a very healthy understanding of the difference between using a medication when needed, and abusing a drug. Also noted was that Thomas was an extremely outspoken advocate for the legalization of medical marijuana and spoke openly and intelligently on several issues of medical marijuana. When asked if they could change anything right now by the social workers, the three oldest all responded with a primary concern for my medical well-being, and the legalization of my medication (marijuana), followed by getting the whole family back home. The three youngest it stated did not have a full understanding of what was going on besides that the house was being fixed. The “Guardian ad Litem”  spoke next. He started off by stating that he had seen literally over a thousand children in his years of service to the court, and he had never met a child as amazing as one of ours, and the fact that we have six of them all at that same standard speaks immensely about their parents. He then detailed several dozen things he had seen the children do in his times visiting with them that enthralled him. After detailing how intelligent our children were, he did state that he was concerned that they may be lacking in some specific subject matter due to being “home schooled”. He stated that we had already discussed testing for the children and that both my wife and I were already trying to get state funding for testing before the raid on my family occurred. He then stated that it was his findings that my “Medical use of marijuana” had not affected the children in any way negatively until the raid on my home. It was his belief in fact that my “Medical use of marijuana” was beneficial to the wellbeing of my children. He then stated to the judge that it was also his belief after talking with all the family and children that “The charges against Jacob and Lisa Sieg are BOGUS”. He believes from talking to the children, friends, neighbors and family that I was using marijuana for my medical condition only, and that it was a very valid need for the medication even though it is not legal.  The judge then spoke to my wife and I about the conditions of getting our children back because we pled “no contest”. She started off by saying that it was very obvious based on the fact that every report she received was beaming about how wonderful our children were that we were very good parents and seemed to be doing an amazing job raising six children with all the medical problems and very little income. She said that she was extremely impressed with our entire family, including my brother Ben who has placement of all six of the children right now. She stated that there is absolutely no reason we can not have full placement of our children back as soon as we get the house up to code. That means completely remodeling the entire house, because the health dept will never allow us back into the home with construction still going on in parts of the house. We have made tremendous headway in the remodel, pure determination, and hoards of caring friends are making very short work of gutting the house where needed, and finishing areas that we had already been working on. The only hang up as of now is materials for some of the rooms, but I think we will be able to have the house back up for the kids within two months. In the meantime, we have absolutely no restrictions on when where or how we see our children.

            It is late, I am tired and sore form a long day in court and a long night working in my house. I hope to have all the documents from court along with the transcript of the hearing soon. I will post as much as I can without invading the privacy of my children, but I will be sure to get the parts of the states own lawyer standing up for our medical case on the blog, as well as the judges reaction. Should make for some good reading.

AN UPDATE ON THE WAR - A walk through a seizure

As I sit here writing this update on the the progress of the legal case against my wife and I, my six children sit around me. It is 11:55 am, on June 18^th 2011, and my children keep staring at me like I am not even human anymore. Some of the older children that understand my medical condition, are just getting over the horror of wondering if the seizure I just had was going to be the one that stopped my heart. I sure wish the twitches would stop so the kids would relax. For those that have never seen a seizure up close, let me back up the clock a couple of hours and walk you through my first one of the day.

As my wife and I were preparing to come visit our children that have been stolen from us, I start to get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Some people wold call them butterflies I guess. It is about nine in the morning. At about 9:45 am, we pulled into my brothers driveway to visit the kids. As I turn to open the truck door to get out, the first lightning pulse shoots through my brain. A feeling I can only describe as touching a bug-zapper directly with your brain. I notice that my hands are shaking, and I am having some facial twitches. As I walk into the house, my 12 year old son comes up to me and asks me “Are you okay?” I start to stutter a little as I tell him I am fine.

I know I made it to the living-room, I am on the big chair. I don't remember having the seizure, but Thomas is staring at me and I hear a few of the other kids close by. It feels like my brain is on fire, and I wish I could tare it out of my skull. My right eye won't focus, probably because it is still twitching. It is about 10:15 am, and I feel like I have been awake for days. I can't finish thoughts completely, and am still having a hard time not mixing up or scrambling words as I try to talk. I know that the headache will not go away, but I take a couple Tylenol anyway.

It is just passed noon now, and my hands are still pretty shaky. It is making typing interesting. My brain still feels like a ball of red hot coals bouncing around my skull. I am hoping that this will be the only one today. It was pretty mild compared to a lot of the seizures I have. Two weeks ago, I never would have had to worry about the next seizure. They were completely controlled by THC. I had not experienced a seizure in over 18 months. After several seizure specialists tried dozens of medications with absolutely zero success, THC was the ONLY medication to completely stop my seizures.

We have been advised that it is in our best interest to plead no contest in the CHIPS case regarding the placement of our children. If we try to fight the charges that we are bad parents, the Dept. of Social Services will launch an investigation into our charges. They do not have to follow the same rules for discovery as a criminal case. They do not need warrants or cause. They can force my wife to testify against me and vice versus. No matter what the outcome of that investigation is, the drug task force and DA have full access to all the information Social Services gathers. They can use that information against my wife and I in our criminal case. So we are left with no contest as a plea. Its great how they have set the laws up to make it impossible to defend yourself.

As of now, the affidavit for my search warrant has still been sealed from me. We have almost raised enough money to pay the retainer on what is going to be a very long, drawn out and expensive case. The children are safe with my brother, and are adjusting to the new home as well as could be expected. Social Services commented on record that our children are “ Extremely Intelligent” “Very Polite” “Articulate” “Very loving” “Secure” children... Its a wonder they are such great children considering my wife and I are such horrible parents.

Thomas talks about what he has seen and been through.

The charges against my wife and I over the use of medical THC

It is hard for me to answere these charges when the law will not provide me with what they have for proof against me. The repeater after all charges is thanks to a law in our wonderfull state that makes it "OK" to charge a person as a repeat offender even if it is their first time commiting that crime if they have ever been charged with a felony. As for any weapons charges, I did not have and never will own a weapon. My brother, a decorated war veteran on the other hand owns weapons. I do not condone breaking the law in any form. My children were not in a place of danger, and I was not a drug dealer. My children are home-schooled and every one of them are at least two grade levels ahead of their peers. They are very respectable and caring children. Each one of them has been through hell trying to help their father deal with massive medical problems that ultimatley led to siezures. Siezures that each one of them has had to watch over and over again. As our wonderful law enforcment and outdated laws continue to try and destroy their lives, they continue to overcome and break through all expectations a Father could ever have for his children. It is for them and all other children that are being punished for laws that do not work and are inhumane that I will continue to fight and refuse to be silenced.

The drug task force has sealed their PROOF for the search and siezure of my property. How can a person defend themselves from factless and false charges when the law will not abide by the law and provide the accused with the "States Evidence"? Where in this warrant does it grant the law enforcement the right to injure children and blatantly destroy, crush, cut and smash all the personal belongings of 6 innocent children?
